PredictGaze Selected to Present at SVForum’s Launch: Silicon Valley 2012 Showcase for Top Tech Startups from around the World
MEGA Startup Weekend 2012 mobile track winner PredictGaze has been selected to present PredictGaze Neo SDK at SVForum’s Launch: Silicon Valley 2012, Silicon Valley’s most affordable, high visibility platform for emerging technology companies to springboard their products or services into the market. The event, to be held June 5 at Microsoft’s Mountain View, California campus, is designed to uncover and showcase products and services from the most exciting of the newest startups in information technology, mobility, digital media, next generation internet, life sciences and clean energy.
The program will start at 8:30 a.m., when Steve Blank will be interviewed about his new book “The Startup Owners Handbook” followed by discussions on the changing role of venture capital, updates from several Launch: Silicon Valley alumni companies, a look into what’s in store for us from Paul Saffo, futurist, and a lively discussion with Ray Rothrock, Chair of the National Venture Capital Association.
The afternoon will be given over to the 30 presenting companies, when each one will have the opportunity to present their products and field questions from the audience and a panel of VCs and Angels. An award will be given for the “Most Likely to Succeed” in each of the six presenting categories. Finalists will also be given the opportunity to pitch to representatives from Enterprise Ireland, which can provide up to $500,000 in seed funding to companies looking to locate part of their operations in Europe. Presenters will be available to showcase their companies and products in the exhibition hall, which is open for networking, deal making, and interviews between presentations.
“We are really excited to be a part of SVForum’s Launch and talk about our forthcoming product Neo SDK. Launch is much more than a just a technology product launch. It provides startups like us to meet visionaries from the startup industry, network with investors, product partners and executives.” mentioned Saurav Kumar, CEO at PredictGaze.
The event will kick off with the Pre-Launch: Silicon Valley 2012 Press Briefing introducing the finalists to the media for their stories, and Pre-Event Party on the evening of June 4, when presenting startup teams will have the opportunity to network with some of Silicon Valley’s most influential executives and deal makers.
“We are excited to have innovative startups like PredictGaze present at this year’s Launch: Silicon Valley product launch,” said Chris Gill, President of SVForum Board of Directors. “Beyond the competition, PredictGaze will have the opportunity to network with some of Silicon Valley’s most influential executives and deal makers as a way to build critical relationships that support their path forward.”
PredictGaze started with a simple idea: allow mobile applications to measure a user’s reactions to content by leveraging smart device cameras. Developers can use this ability to supplement the way users interact with their applications. For example, in mobile games, users can control a game character using combinations of gaze, emotion and gestures. The PredictGaze technology may also be useful for advertisers, film, and market research companies, as these measurements can complement already existing user engagement metric information (reported by publishers) which is traditionally through CTR, impression count, loads, and GRP. Recently, PredictGaze’s demo application, targeted at market research companies, won in the Mobile Category at the StartupMEGA Weekend.
